Menorca, with its turquoise waters, chilled vibes and unspoilt beaches is my favourite of the Balearic Islands. As its one of the smaller islands, it’s less busy and has some real hidden gems. My family and I go nearly every year as our friend owns an apartment on the Golf course.

Once again, I had never explored the island before, even though I’ve been there quite a few times. So we hired cars and I made sure I got the family out exploring (yes, even mum). We went out nearly every day to different towns, lighthouses, cliff tops and harbours which was a lot of fun.

I also booked us all on a sunset catamaran trip from Fornells Harbour, despite my mum constantly in my ear worrying about the boat sinking, tipping over and potentially getting lost in the ocean etc etc etc! (I got her on in the end, with a slight push…) and my god, was it truly Incredible. We were in the middle of the ocean, in the bluest of blue waters, experiencing one of the most beautiful sunset’s I’d ever seen. Moments like this make you wake from your bubble that is your ego and realise… realise that you are so small. Beautiful, but small. That you don’t know nearly as much as you thought, and that life continues to go on at such a rapid pace...take time out to open your eyes and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you, whether that’s going travelling to the other side of the world or just going for a walk in the woods!  I will continue to force myself to step out of the bubble we all hide in and look beyond whats right in front of me, so I can have more moments like this.
