I don't know where to start with this one...there are SO many memories from this trip, it will be hard to sum it all up here.

My brother, Ryan & I had always spoken about wanting to do the 'West Coast Road Trip' but we could never afford it, nevertheless in late 2015 we got our partners involved and decided to go for it!

This adventure was a huge eye-opener for me. It changed my perception of what's important in life and what really isn't. Taking myself out of the crazy London rat-race for 2 weeks into the beautiful american wilderness was the best thing I could have done.

I hope the below pictures give a little insight into how beautiful the West Coast is and inspire you to grab your besties and go road-tripping too...enjoy!

Our Itinerary: San Francisco > Lake Tahoe > Yosemite > Las Vegas

13th June 2016

Memorable Moments...

I had to pee along side the road in Death Valley during our 9 hour drive to Vegas, my pee pretty much evaporated...it was THAT hot!

Barack Obama was in Yosemite during our stay and caused havoc when we were trying to find Mirror Lake!

All I have to say about San Francisco is...be prepared for the wind.

The four of us went rafting down Yosemite's central river in a two person blow up rubber dingy made for children under the age of 12...one of the plastic ores broke in the first 5 minutes.

I was sick in the helicopter over The Grand Canyon...it was a bumpy ride.

We hiked 'Upper Yosemite Falls' which has a difficulty level of 'Extreme'...being naive, we thought "ahh how hard can it be"...6 hours later we made it to the top after nearly collapsing from dehydration, wearing the wrong footwear that made us slip every 10 seconds, crying from scraping my shoulder and rationing a pack of gummy worms.

During our last day in Yosemite, I walked out of the camp showers to find a poster saying
'YOU MAY CATCH THE PLAGUE'

Other funny moments...

  • It was Ryan's first time driving in the USA, when we picked up the car in San Fran it was an absolute beast, he was terrified, so you can imagine what the rest of us were like.

  • We got hit by a mini dust devil during the journey through Death Valley!

  • Harry & Ryan went deep into the depths of Yosemite valley at dusk to search for bears...not recommended.

  • We froze to death every night in our tent in Yosemite and sweat to death in the daytime. Best of both worlds.

  • A man followed us when we were searching for bears and kept appearing behind various rocks saying "Anything out there guys"

First stop - San Fransisco
